SK Telecom Breach Exposes 27 Million Subscribers

TELECOM GIANT COMPROMISED
The telecommunications industry was rocked in April 2025 when SK Telecom disclosed that nearly 27 million subscribers had their personal data compromised. Astonishingly, forensic analysis revealed that the unauthorized access had gone completely undetected since June 2022.
The compromised data posed severe risks for identity theft, targeted phishing, and SIM card cloning. This massive dwell time forced security teams globally to question the efficacy of their intrusion detection systems and pivot heavily toward continuous threat hunting.
