PowerSchool Data Breach Exposes 70 Million Records

MASSIVE EDUCATION SECTOR BREACH
The education sector faced one of its darkest days in February 2025 when PowerSchool, a leading educational software provider, confirmed a catastrophic data breach. Hackers managed to infiltrate their databases using stolen credentials.
The fallout was immense: the personal information of over 70 million individuals was exposed, including 62.4 million students and 9.5 million teachers. The compromised data included academic records, addresses, and identifying information, sparking outrage among parents and forcing schools to radically overhaul their third-party software risk management.
